Bush compares his brush-clearing wounds to war wounds

He had this to say during a recent visit to wounded troops in Texas:

"As you can possibly see, I have an injury myself -- not here at the hospital, but in combat with a Cedar. I eventually won. The Cedar gave me a little scratch. As a matter of fact, the Colonel asked if I needed first aid when she first saw me. I was able to avoid any major surgical operations here, but thanks for your compassion, Colonel."

8. I suppose someone told Bush that one of the few places

FDR would let people see him in his wheelchair was when he went to visit wounded vets in the orthopedic wards. Of course, Roosevelt had too much class to compare his disability to what the vets had been through, it was more to send a silent message that he knew what it was to be disabled and that it didn't have to hold them back.

No doubt Dimson thought he could convince the vets that he knew what it meant to shed blood by showing them his owie. Everytime I think he can't sink any lower he proves me wrong. What an ass.

Last week my DH had to go to our local VA hospital and the staff said they may have to open a new ward because they are so overcrowded. Until recently the vast majority of vets were older he is in his 40's and was one of the 'kids'. Not anymore.

I am shaking with rage. How dare he say such drivel. He is not fit to lick the boots of those who actually served.

I have posted elsewhere my thoughts and fury with this asshole's performance at that hospitalvisit, which for him was no more than a photo op and a chance to do his comedy routine again. However, the next time he pulls this act elsewhere at another hospital there will be mothers and wives and girlfriends of the wounded who will smile and hug him and the poor vets in their beds will shake his hand and smile at him. I am almost losing all patience and pity.

There is another progressive independent website, that shall remain nameless, that has the pictures of one of those wounded soldier that Bush saw that day. I can't imagine Bush making light of such a solemn occasion.
