If you support the Bush Regime, don't tell me you're a CHRISTIAN. Christians don't support administrations that condone torture, or give tax breaks to the greedy, already-wealthy, while gutting social programs that benefit the poor.
If you support the Bush Regime, don't tell me you SUPPORT THE TROOPS. People who support the troops don't rally around an administration that sends soldiers into combat without body armour and other necessary equipment to keep them safe. They also don't send wounded soldiers a bill for medical treatment, or cut veterans' benefits.
If you support the Bush Regime, don't tell me you're a PATRIOT. Patriotic Americans care about their fellow citizens, and don't question the patriotism of their fellow Americans just because they hold a different point of view. True PATRIOTS don't besmirch the war records of people like Kerry, Murtha and Clelland, while singing the praises of people who 'had other priorities' when their turn came to serve.
If you support the Bush Regime, don't tell me you're an AMERICAN. Real Americans don't look for legal loopholes around the Constitution; they honour it as the basis of our democracy.
And most importantly, if you support the Bush Regime, don't tell me you're INTELLIGENT. Intelligent people think for themselves, criticize the government when they think it is off-track, and fight to change the things that must be changed ... and they don't cling to the obvious lies they're being told on a daily basis by people who can't keep their stories straight.
That's my two cents - which, thanks to the Bush economy, is now worth about .003 cents.

2. Can you be intelligent and not be a progressive or liberal |
|
just a thought because I know conservatives who don't support Bush or the liberals, but are smart and lend ideas in general. Most of them have moral compasses unlike the Right wingers too, meaning they live what they believe, not what they preach because they don't preach!

WDJD - what did Jesus do/not do? He did not tell his followers to go and change the roman government or rules/laws. They were to live in the world but not be of it. His message was to the believers on how they should live their lives, not on how others should live theirs. He knew there would always be a mix of people in the world and you cannot change those who do not wish it.
I am a christian and an american. I have two seperate parts to me in that sense - one is a citizen that has input on the whole country and how it is run, the other is on my life and church and how it is run.
Marrying the two is bad imho.

6. Jesus, with the inimitable sense of getting to the point ... |
|
... with a great of efficiency of words, said it best:
"Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
Simple, straightfoward, and unmistakable.
Never understood why Falwell, Robertson, et al JUST DON'T GET IT!

Christianity, historically, has killed billions of people, and probably tortured countless others.
Being ruthless is part of being christian. The shoe fits perfectly.

I've met a few real Christians.
They tend to be liberal.

... don't just talk the talk, they walk the walk ... and I know many of them who actually do.
Don't confuse the politically power-hungry hierarchy of the Church with true Christians who follow the word of Jesus -- they have tended to be two separate and distinct groups throughout history.
And if you think I have an axe to grind when it comes to defending 'true' Christians, I can assure you I don't -- I'm Jewish.
