"The American people may decide that the President |

didn't do anything wrong." That's it's ok for the security of the nation that the President eavesdrop and spy on us. This is the spew coming out of Andrea Mitchell on Imus this morning. And Imus saying that he doesn't think the president has done anything wrong. Now I understand his 'get a rise out of 'em' mentality, but this is over the line.
This domestic spying is not okay. And if American's in general are thinking that this behavior out of our leaders is just fine, well we're fucked. Plain and simple, we all have a basic right to our privacy, unless otherwise shown, (shown being the operative word here, i.e. warrants necessary to further investigate).
We need to speak out louder, I guess. Those who know me and don't agree with me already think I'm nuts. My sister refers to 'your soapbox' when presenting her mormon right-wing bs.
When Ed Meese, then AG under Ronald Reagan, usurped our Miranda Rights in 84 I was screaming and the repukes just washed it under the carpet, and the dems let them. Now this! This is very serious when it comes to our basic American freedoms. I'm convinced now that he knew Kerry's every move during the election cycle and it wouldn't surprise me if he were to declare marshall law (or worse) on us if threatened with impeachment or any other imagined reason.
We cannot let this stand. Somehow we have to accountable for this misuse of our rights. He cannot get away with this much secrecy. Democracy is transparent. What's he pushing?

Seriously...the Republican Party is, and for the last 40 years has been, about thwarting any forward or progressive thinking. They are still having a war on the Sixties. The revolution of thought, during that era, scared the living shit out of them and they have been doing there best to mock and minimize those times, ever since.

If Americans decide that this eavesdropping without a warrant, against the law, is fine for a president, then my American, the one that values liberty over a bit of security, is dead. Rest in peace.
