Kansas City suburb drops anti-war sign prosecution
PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. - A Kansas City suburb has dropped its prosecution of a man who was ticketed for anti-war yard signs and plans to review its sign ordinance.

David Quinly sought the help of the American Civil Liberties Union of Kansas and Western Missouri after losing an appeal in municipal court.

On Tuesday, Johnson County District Court Judge Steve Leben agreed to allow the city to dismiss Quinly's fine.

"It's recognition that you can't discriminate against people who want to engage in political speech," said attorney John Simpson, who represented Quinly on behalf of the ACLU. "Now what we need to do is get the city of Prairie Village to change the ordinance themselves."

3. We fight, we win
Over and over again, we fight, we win.

We only seem to lose when someone's got his attention riveted on poll numbers rather than on the principle involved. "But, but, but, this poll says 38% of the people think that domestic spying by the president without a warrant is just okey-dokey, and we can't afford to alienate those people!" As if the delusionoids who think Bush's farts smell like roses are EVER going to vote Democratic.
