Newt says GOP must dump the Bugman as House Speaker
Jan. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives need to give up on former Majority Leader Tom DeLay and elect someone to succeed him as they try to overcome a wave of scandals, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said.

``There are a series of behaviors, a series of attitudes, a series of crony-like activities that are not defensible, and no Republican should try to defend them,'' he said. ``The danger for Republicans is to pretend this isn't fundamental or to pretend that they can get by passively without undertaking real reform.''

8. Newtie...
... was only marginally better than Delay. He got away with a lot of crap, and got slapped on the hand for a lot more.

That fat faced goofball is kidding himself if he thinks he has a shot at the presidency.

17. Distraction
No one left of the Atlantic Ocean can trust this fuck as far as you can throw three wives in a wheel barrow (did I say that, chuckle). He and all the other mouthpieces for the Reich-wing call Frank Luntz up every morning and ask what should we do today to distract the MSM from the "scandal" and Bush's crimes.

18. No, I think they are trying to go Post Bush
I believe that somehow they think the American people will blame everything on
Bush, Tom Delay, Karl Rove, & maybe Bill Frist and that the Republicans will take
their ill gotten gains and use it to steal 2006, hah!

20. I don't think it's going to work
I hope that people are starting to wake up and critically evaluate what has been
going on, I don't believe Bush has vetoed 1 bill since he's been in office that should
tell us volumes about the health of this country. Whoever heard of a democracy with no
dissent and no free press.

IRS tracked taxpayers’ political affiliation
The News Tribune
Published: January 6th, 2006 02:30 AM
WASHINGTON – As it hunted down tax scofflaws, the Internal Revenue Service collected information on the political party affiliations of taxpayers in 20 states.
Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., a member of an appropriations subcommittee with jurisdiction over the IRS, said the practice was an “outrageous violation of the public trust” that could undermine the agency’s credibility.
