What would you trade?
Edited on Thu Jan-05-06 01:42 AM by NanceGreggs
In view of the way the world, and specifically our once-great nation, has declined in the quality of life in the last decade, what would YOU will be willing to trade for something that 'used to be'?

I, for one, would gladly give up 24/7 cable 'news' coverage for fifteen minutes per night of 'real news' delivered by the likes of Cronkite, Huntley & Brinkley, or Edward R. Murrow.

I would happily trade the current crop of reality-based TV shows for one hour-per-week of thought-provoking and entertaining TV viewing like 'The Twilight Zone', 'The Name of the Game', 'Columbo' or 'Have Gun, Will Travel'.

I would forego all of the current 'remakes' of old movies (that are classics on their own, and don't need re-doing) in exchange for new, innovative and fresh scripts from what should be the up-and-coming writers of tomorrow's classics.

I would trade you a million decaffeinated frappa-cinos with a cinnamon-and-ginger twist at Starbucks for one GREAT cup of old fashioned coffee, shared with a friend at the local greasy spoon.

(I must confess, though, there is one modern innovation I would be loathe to sacrifice -- I wouldn't trade my on-line DU friends for ANYTHING!)

But just for my own edification, what of today's world would YOU trade for something from the past?

3. For my taste you don't go back far enough :)
I want to trade much more; I want to go back to the time before the automobile, before the use of oil which will be everybody's downfall.
