Christiane Amanpour is married to Kerry advisor James Rubin -

Rubin was prominent in supporting Kerry during the campaign. So isn't it possible the wiretappers were looking for campaign info via conversations between Rubin & Amanpour? Could it have been their home phone that was tapped? (IF, of course, the hint dropped by Mitchell proves correct about the wiretapping) Maybe someone has already posted about this...

If the press knows about Amanpour being wiretapped, this is huge. It's only a matter of time before this major story creates buzz (and severe problems for the pResident. No longer will be be able to say that he was only spying on Osama and friends.

I wonder how the press knew?

I wish they would continue telling the story. Like...NOW.

3. I can't think of any other reporters with a link to the Kerry

campaign at the moment. So, if this turns out to be true, it could be a bombshell.

6. If they were spying on reporters, the lid's gonna blow off
The press is so self-centered and out of touch - they'll ignore all manner of lawbreaking and constitutional violations that only hurt real people. But let one of their own get targeted and they go ballistic.

If the NSA was wiretapping reporters, the media will make this the story of the year because IT'S ALL ABOUT THEM!
