Actually, I got the liquor amendment one wrong (it was kinda confusing, since technically that one's no longer an active amendment -- I put gender equality) and the one right before it (I forget what it was)

8. Right on..Also..I'd LOVE to see what the Average American..... |
|
..would score. I'm willing to bet it would be in the 12-16 range (a decent share would get 20-25 but a lot would get 5-10)

11. Well, the highest total of the test takers was 23, at 58,000+, so I would |
|
reckon that's the average of those inclined to take such a test. I'd guess if everyone had to take it, it would be @ 15 or 16.
I got 28 - missed on Washington's VP and the impeachment question (can't say more without clueing in those who have not yet taken it).

tended to score about 15 to 23, clustering about 19. Most, even though our employment hinges on policy, pay little attention to politics - all are at least college educated - so I would sy you are right on.

14. I got 27. I took another quiz like this... |
|
When I was working at my last job. Someone had a kid who was having 50 people take them as part of her American History class in school. Out of the 30 or so people at my job that took it the average score was about 15-18 out of 50 questions. Very sad statement, especially since most of the people were just out of college. :(
I scored 47 out of 50, by the way, but I am a huge nerd. :patriot:

I thought the equal rights amendment was the only Constitutional Amendment that made it out of Congress with a super majority, but was never ratified.

20. 28 -- one I don't care about, the other I'm surprised about |
|
One I don't care that I missed (the # of amendments not ratified - who cares what DIDN'T happen?), but the other I am surprised about (the year that the last amendment was ratified). I thought for sure it was before I was born because how did I miss it happening?

my mistakes:
didn't know an amendment had been ratified in 1992.
thought convicted meant impeached, so i said none. brain fart.
still, i'm quite the citizen.

but apparently it was not Lincoln as the President during the Civil War... duh
But did get the liquor amendment... by a process of elimination. I knew that the rest, while very hot topics, were not ratified.

Sometimes, I even surprise myself. I admit, I took a wild guess on the "How many amendments have been proposed but not ratified?" Still, I'm glad that I'm able to correctly answer 30 basic questions about American governemnt.
