bush said over the weekend that al-qaeda has been making phone calls to the united states. well, he's right.

saturday afternoon i got a call from a telemarketer who wanted to sell me a membership to al-qaeda. i told him i was busy and didn't appreciate being called on a saturday afternoon. a very persistent lad, he spoke of all the programs they have to topple the great satan, etc.

eventually, i just hung up on him.

I stayed on with the telemarketer (Ali something-or-other) and after a couple of Allah Akbars, I got a complimentary gift.
