"the 60 Abramoff says he could name."
HA! and i bet they'll all be republicans--you know, those "values" people.

(sixty? sixty!?!?!? wowza!)

"How many members of Congress could be implicated? Anywhere from a dozen to the 60 Abramoff says he could name."

"But Democrats would be well advised not to gloat too soon. At the end of the day, there should be enough scandal to go around."

http://news.bostonherald.com/opinion/view.bg?articleid=120083

well, i'm gloating. jack hated democrats. i don't think he gave any of them money.

and as far as harry reid taking donations from an indian tribe--well, he's senator of NV; can't indians donate money to their senator? what's the big deal about that? they donated to him before abramoff came along i would assume. and they'll probably donate to him again. hell, i donated to my senators too. (and i'm part indian--distant and remote--but still part of my mix.)

1. Both Harry Reid and Patrick Kennedy are keeping their donations.
As they should IMO. They both do a tremendous amount of work on their behalf.

Fortunately there was zero influence to be purchased from the Democrats since they have none, so I'm reasonably certain they are in the clear. Fingers crossed.

But 60? Damn, do they have enough handcuffs?

4. LOL @ "that many handcuffs"
good one!
Got my fingers crossed, too.
I won't believe Abramhoff accusses Delay or Hastert until he does. If he implicates any Repuke pion like a staff aide, I think they will rat out their bosses quicker than a hiccup.

2. At the end of the day ...
... they'll find some way or another to say "The Democrats do it, too", even if they don't.

5. Well, I'm going to gloat.
Just because the boston herald repeats lies from the right wing talking points does not make it the truth. Remember when we knew what truth was? Remember when newspapers reported the truth? Well those days are long gone and catapulting the propaganda does not make it truth.

8. Ooooh, look out Dems! One or two of you might get swept up
Well, unlike the Republicans, we Democrats wouldn't mind it a bit to see corrupt members of Congress convicted and removed from office, regardless of party. But out of a potential 60 congress critters, there are bound to be a couple of Dems who had their oily little hands out for some of the sugar Abramoff was spreading around. And if there were, then good riddance to them.

See Boston Herald, this is about VALUES and ETHICS. This is about INTEGRITY. If your idea of an ethic is "Where's mine?", this is about something a little different.

Numbnuts. We aren't "gloating"; we're looking to see justice done. What sort of editorial does the Herald run when someone is executed and folks are outside the prison, cheering and waving posters and sharing drinks?
