I heard Congressman Moran (C-span2) say Congress has to wait for a strong signal from the public before it will act. IMHO, thats what's gone wrong with the last five years. Congress is watching Bush drive us off a cliff, while waiting for the public to do something about it. Hey Moran-- you were elected to listen and lead--so don't you tell me to get it done over the internets.

1. how right you are
how wrong he is. Jim needs to grow some balls IMHO. After all he's paid to represent a district of Democrats who don't want him to kow-tow to the Republicans.

2. This is Crunch Time for Dems
Either the establishment Democrats inside the beltway show real leadership is the next 30 to 60 days ... or 2006 will be a flop for them.

John Nichols at the Nation has stated this well. The Democrats have to get out in front on cleaning up this radical Republican corruption -- or they will be losers ... again.

Now is the time for Democrats to embrace public financing of federal elections and an hard END to all lobbyist's gifts, honoraria, contributions, etc.

If the Democrats become just reactionary, or show their usual timidity, then the whole Abramoff scandal will come to nothing. Rove and the radical Republicans will define the Democrats as an equal part of the problem and the Congress will stay in GOP control.

4. we need to reassure our congresscritters that we will be right behind them
as soon as they step up. Maybe a card and a $10 bill.

We should start an activist program.
