Stand together on a stage and just demand it. The country is ready.

1. Not now...
Edited on Fri Jan-06-06 01:31 PM by Hyernel
...It's useless to call for it right this moment, until we have the tools (Dem majorities in Congress) to make it happen.

What we need to be doing now is vigerously pointing out to the American people that what Bushco is doing IS impeachable, and that the only reaon he is still in office is because GOP congressmen are loyal to party, rather than the law, or the Constitution. And that is why they need to be voted out of office, en masse, in 2006.

Then, in 2007. A Dem Congress easily impeaches the Chimpocracy and establishes itself as the protectors of law and order against the corrupt and lawless Republicans.

To impeach the Monkey now...it would have to be done largely by Republican maverics...which would strengthen/redeem them. The Democrats must drive Bush out, not the Republicans.

2. The Dems have to stand up and tell the truth--Chimp/Cheney are morally
unfit to serve. Let the Pukes figure out how to get rid of them.

3. But they would lose if they did it now
What they can do now (and they are doing it) is to point out (to anyone who'll listen) the many ways in which what * is doing is illegal, unethical and immoral. Convince the people and the legislators will follow. Or they'll kick them out of office and elect people who will impeach the bastards.

8. No, voters would think we're playing games
It needs to wait until we have the votes in Congress to support impeachment.

10. If the evidence is there--which there is--it won't be viewed as playing ..
games.

13. Exactly
And than a republican will just be in control and still doing the same thing(s) as Bush. No differences at all. This is what Jim Moran was talking about last night pretty much. It's not going to happen right now because of the republican control so you have to have a grassroots effort. Encourage people to vote and vote democratic. I personally don't care if they never vote democratic again but 2006 is very important.

19. Pointing is getting tiring.
I point and I point and I point. I have pointed so much that I think most of the people I am trying to point things out to just tune me out. They don't WANT to believe anything bad about the GOP or Bush. And it seems like I spend all my time saying, "That's not true. Check here and here and here for proof." Only to turn around and hear the same people parroting the same Limbaugh/O'Reilly/Matthews bullshit. If they heard it on the TV on Sunday morning, well, it must be true. Especially if it suits their idea of how things should be going.

People don't want to be actually informed. Being actually informed is hard work. You have to ask questions and research them. People want to FEEL informed. They want to FEEL smart and educated. They don't want to do the work to be those things in actual fact.

process immediately. The USA is ready for new leadership.

14. Not these republicans
Maybe when the democrats gain control again, but not with this group. They're loyal to the party and they'll look weak or whatever.

12. They probably won't since they
can't do anything anyways. They have to wait until they're in control again. I would love for them to call for his head, so to speak, but I doubt they would risk it. Walking on egg shells and having to pick your battles. Hopefully they'll still have the hearings on the spying.

15. No the country isn't
I was just at a Town Hall forum on Iraq last night and the country is not ready for this at all. Not even close. It's nice, but very wishful thinking.

16. Really? We had a town hall forum on Iraq on Tuesday and
many called for the impeachment of Bush. Five hundred showed up to talk about Iraq but a lot of the speakers said the solution for Iraq (and perhaps preventing war on Iran and WWWlll) is getting rid of Junior. Many asked Congressman Sabo to support Conyers' censure and to draw up papers for impeachment. We can't withstand BushCo for another three whole years.

17. Sorry, but I don't think that's a representative sample.
A group of 500 people in one state who are concerned enough about Iraq to show up at a town hall meeting do not an impeachment make. When a substantial portion of the Republican caucus in the House and Senate start calling for impeachment, I'll believe it can be done. Until then, George W. Bush cannot be removed.

20. When a substantial portion of the PEOPLE
start holding the Republicans and Democrats accountable in the House and Senate then impeachment will happen.

Have you called your congressional delegation about impeachment?

It pisses me off that people give up without even trying.
