The Deadly Right Wing Spin on Corruption. |
|
I continue to see, here and other places, the repetitive posting of such things as, "This (Tom Delay, Abramoff, Plame, etc....) just proves that all politicians are corrupt!" Or, "This shows you can't trust Washington." Etc.
It is a lie! Just as they are trying to spin the Abramoff deal into saying, "Well, the Democrats took money too!"
Also a lie.
The obvious purpose here is to put forth as a defense the notion that, "Well, we may be corrupt, but the other side is just as corrupt..."
If enough people believe this, voters will either stay away from the polls in disgust, or vote 'same as usual' on the thinking that corruption's just something neither party will fix.
THIS ADMINISTRATION IS THE MOST CORRUPT ADMINISTRATION SINCE HARDING !
This corruption goes WAY beyond business as usual, and the parties are NOT affected equally, it is not even close.
The Republicans know that the only meaningful challenge to their looting of the national treasury and their installing a banana republic is the Democratic Party. They are trying to drag the Democrats down with them in the corrupt muck.
Don't fall for it, and recognize it for what it is. Spin. Right wing spin.

2. NPR is even shoveling that Sh*t. |
|
I heard a report the other day on All Things Considered in which they declared Americans aren't buying the "culture of corruption" argument, and probably won't get mileage out of it in the election. Of course they failed to mention that the evidence of a rotten Republican Party is mounting every day. But I must say, if the Democrats can't capitalize on the truth of this situation, they are more pathetic than I thought.

3. Then, change THEIR spin... |
|
Whenever talking about Congress (on ANY topic)...always refer to it as:
...the "REPUBLICAN-CONTROLLED" Congress
(whether you are talking about the mess in Iraq, the disaster after Katrina, or the Abramoff AND Plame scandals....always, always refer to the "Republican-controlled" Congress) drip..drip...drip...
