Wes will be on O'Leilly's show on FAUX News channel tonight Fri., Jan 6 at 8 o'clock EST, and 5 and 8 o'clock PST. See one of the few Dems. who can dominate the RWers with class and dignity.

1. With class, dignity and a beautiful smile.
It amazes me that Wes can not only maintain the class and dignity, but irritate the hell out of them by looking amused by their blathering. I wish I had 2% of his coolness under fire. He seems to thrive on it.

8. Turning the spin
During this excellent interview with Wes Clark, faux was ready to go after Murtha with the spin: isn't Murtha hurting the morale of the military? Clark started out his answer by declaring Murtha a "patriot," one that he, Clark, really loves. But then he took the spin on a 180 by citing the 20 deaths of Arkansas' soldiers. Clark said that people attend those funerals and they think. Actually, he said, people are not enlisting because of how the president, not Murtha, is USING the military. Great! Just great!

Also the interviewer tried to take Clark's love of John Murtha to make a case that the General was also depressing enlistment. Of course Wes Clark laughed at him.

The seniors I teach in our poor rural school, deep in a red-zone, often consider the military as a possible path out of poverty. Currently I have a student who wants to do just that. His rejection of that option is the war. He's a bright kid, one who has never met his father and finds himself facing an uncertain future. I doubt that he has ever heard of John Murtha...but he does know several kids from the area who have/are serving in Iraq including a 20 year old with the scars on his head to prove it.

Spin that!

10. Clark did well
He managed to say he was against the war in the first place but still come across as pro-military and patriotic. Also managed to avoid criticising a fellow Democrat (Murtha) despite the interviewer setting him up.
