On the news shows this morning Pace's comments are being characterized as a "beat down".

I didn't see it that way. Do these two Marines see eye to eye?

1. As if the prospect of being used...

...as cannon fodder for the perpetual war "on terror" is not "damaging to recruiting." When Pace stood up to Rummy about a month ago on the reponsibility of US forces to intervene when they witness torture, I had hopes for him...oh, well.

2. Media is repeating the same tactic they used with Franks and Kerry in 2004

Kerry told Americans that Bush failed at Tora Bora and let Osama get away because of inexplicable decisions by Bush administration.

BushInc put Tommy Franks out there to say Kerry was wrong....yet CIA documents and reports support EVERY WORD Kerry spke about this was true and Bush campaign/Franks were LYING their asses off.

The media gave most weight to BushInc lies - big surprise. They're going through the exact same process with everything Murtha says.

3. Apparently you don't think too much of GEN Pace

or GEN Franks to say they were "put out there" by BushInc.

CIA documents prove Franks lied about Tora Bora. There is a current book out now by a CIA agent who was on the ground there the entire time.

If you believe Franks was telling the truth about Tora Bora, then let us all in on the explanation.

It's pure FANTASY to think that Franks - on his own- came forward with a LIE right after Kerry pointed to Bush's failures at Tora Bora in a DEBATE.

You think Franks CALLED UP THE NETWORKS and said he needs to tell lies to shoot down Kerry's debate claims ON HIS OWN?

did so publicly at an endorsement rally. He was acting as a political operative. If he was acting as his own man would he have made such a blatant lie about Tora Bora immediately after the debate Kerry spoke about it?

The facts of Tora Bora reported in CIA documents from agents on the ground prove that Kerry was telling the truth and Franks HAD TO KNOW that he was lying about Kerry and Tora Bora when he put up front by the Bush campaign TO LIE FOR THEM.
