Over-all strategy, with the nomination of Alito, is impeccable. Timing of the nomination, however, implies some weakness or either another wild-card of distraction from the real issues lurking in the wings. Does the flying-monkey propaganda-squad have another, even better way to side-track critics, while consolidating support of the religious right wing before mid-term elections? Let's face it; any discussion about Alito quickly leads to debate over Roe Vs. Wade or even gun-control, which only serves to unify religious fundamentalists, as they lose focus on bribery issues involving the Reichstag Leaders that cannot be tolerated on a spiritual level. Rest assured, if the tyrant truly wants Alito, he's in and I say the less debate the better. I want Christians to see Der Fuhrer and his Fourth Reich for what it is before it gets even more out of hand. When will our dissenting leaders speak out about run-away whole-sale tyranny? By the way, I don't care if they did trick Russ into taking a small donation from crooks and find it strange that they gave him so little, while giving high-ups in the Fourth Reich so much. Well, I guess the tyrant can finally say it to Feingold: "You did it too."
Much more eloquent than my humble writings, here are words and wisdom from one of the greatest Christians I've ever had the pleasure to read:
"Is organized religion too inextricably bound to the status quo to save our nation and the world? Maybe I must turn my faith to the inner spiritual Church, the church within the Church, as the true ecclesia and the hope of the world. But again I am thankful to God that some noble souls from the ranks of organized religion have broken loose from the paralyzing chains of conformity and joined us as active partners in the struggle for freedom. They have left their secure congregations and walked the streets of Albany, Georgia, with us. They have gone through the highways of the South on torturous rides for freedom. Yes, they have gone to jail with us. Some have been kicked out of their churches and lost the support of their bishops and fellow ministers. But they have gone with the faith that right defeated is stronger than evil triumphant. These men have been the leaven in the lump of the race. Their witness has been the spiritual salt that has preserved the true meaning of the Gospel in these troubled times. They have carved a tunnel of hope through the dark mountain of disappointment."
From Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "Letter from Birmingham Jail," dated April 16, 1963
Here are some other fine words by a minister of God that might give our leaders a clue as to when they should speak out about the real issues of political corruption and the decay of spiritual values in government and America, like God-given rights to freedom in a country of laws, not powerful men:
"When they came for the communists, I was silent, because I was not a communist;
When they came for the socialists (this should be Social Democrats) I was silent, because I was not a socialist;
When they came for the trade unionists, I did not protest, because I was not a trade unionist;
When they came for the Jews, I did not protest, because I was not a Jew;
When they came for me, there was no one left to protest on my behalf."
Rev. Martin Niemoeller (1892-1984)
The Niemoeller quote might not be exact but this site
http://www.nolongersilent.org/ shows that the "silent majority" of Christians in this country IS willing to speak up when their leader is morally and spiritually wrong, at least on their front page but I didn't read the whole site.
