Chickenhawks..........Uncle Sam needs YOU!

I swear I can`t bear to read another report about soldiers being deployed to Iraq, some for a second or third time. Guardsmen in their 50s. Kids fresh out of high school. First-time fathers three months away from the birth of their child. Single mothers. It`s like Rumsfeld started the engine on a giant sucking machine that swept from Maine to California....including here in Vermont where another 400 Guard soldiers will be leaving this month. It`s downright insane.

In my sixty years on earth, this is the first war I can remember where Americans just went on about their business of shopping and bellowed for tax cuts. Even worse, the majority accepted whatever war-theme BS the White House threw at them and the media`s sanitized version of combat, hardly questioning where all the photos of the caskets went. And, when Cheney and Bush dressed up in phony military costumes and used our soldiers as mere props, America cheered. Two thumbs, way up for our two leading Chickenhawks. It`s sickening.

I say it`s high time for thr Barco-Lounger folks rooting for this war to march on over to their local recruiter`s and sign up. Go spread some freedom. March your butts around Baghdad until YOUR legs get blown off. It`s not enough anymore to just cheer from safety. Put your life on the line for this cause you crow about every morning on Washington Journal.
Never mind this excuse that you have things to do here at home. So did some of the soldiers who couldn`t attend their father`s funeral because they were trapped in Bush`s lie. Put up or shut up, Chickenhawks. Sell your vacation tickets and use that money to increase your life insurance.
You`ll need it when an IED comes your way on some death highway in Iraq.
But, since you believe so deeply in this war, you`ll have no problem fighting in it, right?
