Hating on Robert Novak - today's cartoon!
Today's cartoon is a little shot at Rove, Novak, and the White House Iraq Group.

I'd hate for anyone to forget that, so today is a reminder.

3. We actually did this one a month ago, but ...
... but then something happened and we went with something hot in the news and set it to the side.

I've been wanting to use it, and today seemed a good day.

I'm interested in seeing how the Alito hearings play out. I expect to do at least one based upon those hearings.

Like it's already in my signature.

Perhaps that's where you saw it.

7. Do you really think that Cooper was so "unwitting"
I believe there are those who would disagree. What do you base the "unwitting" upon?

8. I don't think there's any suggestion that Cooper was in on it.
Cooper was just a journalist doing what they do - getting information to print. Not so Novak. Novak was an agent for Rove. There's a big difference. And it was Novak, not Cooper, who outed Plame.

11. Thanks. Are you a Lilith fan, per chance?
I've read Lilith was the creation of a Jewish rabbi, who wrote it as a work of fiction, in medieval times, or earlier.

13. Lilith was supposedly the first wife of Adam, before Eve.
I assumed your name referred to THAT Eve.

15. LOL...my name does refer to THAT Eve but I had never heard of
the Lilith story. Interesting though. Mine is in reference to the "apple" incident ;)

16. I'll give you the short version.
About 1000 years ago, a text appeared in Europe which told of a wife for Adam before Eve. According to the legend, she was a feminist, a strong figure, and that made her unacceptable. She was disposed of, and her replacement was EVE.

Hence, the Lilith Fair concert series with which several female stars are aligned.

She was supposed to be a basis for the succubus concept.

Sarah McLaughlin (sp?) is one of the key players in Lilith Fair.

19. Robert Novak: Not Just Selfish And Inconsiderate But A Liar, Too
According to the Washington Post, on 7/27/05,

Harlow, the former CIA spokesman, said in an interview yesterday that he testified last year before a grand jury about conversations he had with Novak at least three days before the column was published. He said he warned Novak, in the strongest terms he was permitted to use without revealing classified information, that Wilson’s wife had not authorized the mission and that if he did write about it, her name should not be revealed.
Harlow said that after Novak’s call, he checked Plame’s status and confirmed that she was an undercover operative. He said he called Novak back to repeat that the story Novak had related to him was wrong and that Plame’s name should not be used.

Thanks for the link.

I like News Hounds. They're a great bunch of women. I posted there for a long time, but when I started this cartoon, I got a really bad stalker there. News Hounds doesn't have any way to stop someone from using your EXACT screen name. Anyone can use any name they want, so I had someone who would act like he was me, and start all kinds of shit. That went on for two weeks, and finally, I told them goodbye.

I still correspond with some of the News Hounds, and included them in some of my cartoons a few months ago.
