Ohio awakening from its Nightmare?Strickland leads all GOP Gov hopefuls.
NEW RASMUSSEN POLL:

Strickland Leads Blackwell, Montgomery, Petro

Congressman Ted Strickland Leads GOP Rivals by
4 to 16 Points in Head-to-Head Match-ups

Columbus, Ohio - Ohio gubernatorial candidate Congressman Ted Strickland holds a lead over every Republican challenger for the governor's office, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports poll released Saturday.

The survey, conducted January 3, shows Strickland with a four-point lead over Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, 44% to 40%. Strickland leads Attorney General Jim Petro by five points, 43% to 38%.

The survey also found that Strickland leads Ohio State Auditor Betty Montgomery by a sixteen-point margin, 49% to 33%.

According to Rasmussen Reports, Strickland is viewed favorably by 54% of respondents, higher than the Republican challengers and significantly higher than the 40% favorability rating attributed to Strickland in the previous Rasmussen Reports poll (November).

According to Rasmussen Reports, the telephone survey of 500 Likely Voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports January 3, 2005. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 4.5 percentage points at the midpoint with a 95% level of confidence. (From www.RasmussenReports.com

This is great news. Obviously, Ted Strickland does not have the (infamous) name recognition of a Blackwell or a Petro, and he has yet to spend any of his growing campaign war chest.

Still, he leads!

1. I got Ted's email too;
And was checking to see if anybody had posted this great news. Looks like you beat me to it. Too bad nobody has made any comments. I met the man once, briefly. Seemed solid. He has my support. Great to see him governor.
