DeLay Takes Over Cunningham’s Spot On Appropriations Committee

When DeLay announced his official resignation on Saturday, he also announced he was “reclaiming” his seat on the powerful Appropriations Committee.

Why is there a seat available? From the San Diego Union Tribune, 12/10/05:

A vacancy on the panel occurred earlier this week when Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham, R-Rancho Santa Fe, formally resigned from Congress after pleading guilty to charges that he accepted bribes from defense contractors.

4. Pride Goeth Before the Fall
Mr. Delay just cannot stay away from the money side of politics. The blinding power that controlling money brings Delay is symptomatic of some deep-rooted mental problems. You would think, given what has happened to him, he would want to steer way-clear of any situation that has landed him in trouble in the past. Instead, we get more "in-your-face" politics from a man who is looking at a real possibility of jail time. Delay is much more stupid than I previously thought.

5. I bet everyone on the Appropriations Committee is scared shitless
Remember "Duke" wore a wire while doing business. This is the committee that is probably the most corrupt because this is the one that authorizes expenditutes and that is what it is all about. How to take tax payer's money and distribute it among their buddies.

6. The nickname 'Bug Man' fits Delay to a tee. He is such a cockroach.
What a bunch of corrupt slimeballs - I can't believe how in-your-face they are about it.

Boy, he really is a combative little dick, isn't he? It's all about money and power.
