More bad new for New Orleans
bush to return to the Crescent City this week to make more promises he has no intention of keeping and to get his picture taken with non-white residents to show his compassion. And to compound the misery, sean hannity is taking a "tour" of the city thursday and will broadcast from the city (TV and Radio). So the world will hear about the terrible job the democratic governor is doing except that she's not doing a terrible job, but what's facts got to do with a faux broadcast.

Last Friday, all four lanes of the six mile twinspan bridge between New Orleans and Slidell opened for business (concrete proof of what the democratic governor has done) and bids for a new six lane bridge to replace the 40 year old twin span will be let this spring; more finagling by the democratic governor. I'm sure sean will cover the progress of Governor Blanco with his indepth analysis and fair and balanced approach to the "news."

6. There is no doubt
in my military mind that he will have a photo op(s) with locals showing his compassion with his tie off and his sleeves rolled up. He wouldn't last a half hour tearing out drywall or hauling trash from any of those residences in any neighborhood. Unfortunately for bush and rove the lower ninth ward ain't fake like his ranch. You'd think the future jailbirds in the white house would have other things besides photo ops to concern themselves with.

8. I wonder if he'll wear the light blue or the dark blue shirt
with the sleeves rolled up? Will he wear those dorky brown leather "work" shoes and the same belt that he has worn for the past 5 years? How much will he sweat this time? Will any locals actually be glad to see him or will we have another priceless "go fuck yourself" moment? Most importantly of all, will he sit on Trent Lott's reconstructed porch (has it been rebuilt?) or will he simply ignore Mississippi and Alabama?

He must be desperate to escape DC if he's planning a trip to NOLA. :(

My condolences to all of you Gulf Coast and NOLA people. DimSon has only come to Georgia once, maybe twice, since 2000.

9. I don't think Lott's quite finished yet.
according to a friend who just got back from doing FEMA assessments in MS, and who shall remain nameless for his protection, he ran into Lott once. Lott was by himself, and he was scavenging sheet metal from a neighbor's yard (i guess that would actually be theft, unless he got permission). My friend asked him for directions and said Lott was rude.

He also says that FEMA workers wear nothing that identifies them as such, because otherwise people would SHOOT AT THEM.

He described the smell as so thick you could "eat" it.

10. The situation is just awful on the gulf Coast and in NOLA.
My in-laws are down there and still don't have their home repaired. Lott is scum. I feel for his family though. I'm sorry he lost his house, but he has several other homes to live in. The other victims are shit out of luck. :(

11. My condolences, Bosshog, and Gulf Coast DU friends
I am sorry that POS is going to add slime to an already sad situation. May brighter days be ahead for all of you.

And greetings from a slightly drier California...(but only slightly...and waiting for next round of storms).

13. The Gov won't recover, I'm afraid
I predict Bobby Jindal will have her job.

I got into it with an ignorant family member over Christmas about the job The Gov has done. This person refused to lay ANY blame on the shoulders of the President.

Wasn't it like 4 days before Blanco could reach W directly by phone after Katrina?
