(apologies if already posted... )

"What the Republicans need is 50 Jack Abramoffs. Then this becomes
a different town," -- Grover Norquist, National Journal, 7/29/95.

"The time has come that the American people know exactly what their
Representatives are doing here in Washington. Are they feeding at
the public trough, taking lobbyist-paid vacations, getting wined
and dined by special interest groups?... the American people have a
right to know." -- U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay, 11/16/95

2. After alito
NO MORE STUPID ELECTIONS-The now presiding persons in power will be allowed to make all decisions regarding the whole nation and the people will have nothing to say about it!
The problems are of the apathy of the people and will only be changed by understanding the cause and rectifying it as quickly as possible!
Change should be quick or the US will not just falter but be wide open to invasion by any country!

3. You said it, Grover ...
"What the Republicans need is 50 Jack Abramoffs. Then this becomes
a different town ..."

Downright prescient - look at what a 'different town' it is right now, with only ONE Jack Abramoff ... so far.

The quote should be changed to:
"What the Democrats need is 50 Republican-backed Jack Abramoffs." If there were (or are) more of them out there, the highest office a Republican could get elected to in the years to come would be dog-catcher, in small towns that don't have cable-TV, nespapers, or the internet(z).

Norquist's statement proves the wisdom of the old adage, "Be careful what you wish for ..."

4. 1920s quote - sounds like straight out of PNAC
"The people need wholesome fear. They want someone to frighten them and make them shudderingly submissive."

Ernst Rohm of the Nazi party . . .
