Help stop the Newt
As story of the Abramoff scandal broke I saw the Newt on TV exhorting his teammates to clean up their act. I found this to be so hypocritical after he killed Clinton’s attempt at Lobbying reform. He is no reformer. He helped to create this problem. Please disseminate this far and wide.

(Snip)
As Mother Jones first reported, Newt conspired to crush Clinton's lobby reform bill. At the 11th hour, Gingrich suddenly objected to language in the bill that he himself had added, declaring that it would muzzle grassroots activists. He then faxed Limbaugh, who dutifully warned his dittoheads that the lobby bill was a plot to stifle free speech. By the next morning, congressional phones were ringing off the hook. A Republican filibuster in the Senate finally killed the bill.

Any help in documenting this further would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
TWR

1. People don't care about the reform bill, but mention his ex-wives
that he deserted because they were ill, and the fact that when his first wife was dying of cancer, the church had to take up a collection for her to have electricity because he wouldn't pay alimony or child support, they listen. Then top it off with the annulment that he got from the Catholic Church to marry #3 trophy, they get disgusted.

2. As much as I DETEST tactics like this, you are RIGHT!
That is the kind of stuff people pay attention to!

I do however think that his killing of the lobby reform bill should be added TOO. The juicy stuff will get attention, and maybe some of the truth about his deceptive character just might slip in!

9. I'll say this stuff over and over if it will keep him from getting a
top spot on the RNC ticket. He is just a sleaze. I also throw in the BJ he got in the parking lot when one of his girls was playing soft ball.

3. A neocon admitted to me yesterday
That he found the sight of Newt chastising republicans for corruption to be absurd beyond belief.

6. Yes, a live one, in the flesh
My boss' son, who rarely discusses politics with me because his father has told him I'll rip his head off if he goes there.

11. I've just never met an actual Neocon.
I've met lots of conservatives and other right-wingers, just never met anybody who thought of themselves as a neocon.

7. Newt is a scumbag. Check him out here...
~snip~ The 1995 Murdoch Deal
You probably heard something about Newt's book scandal. He was offered first $2.5 million, then $4.5 million by Harper Collins, a publishing company owned by Rupert Murdoch, who also owns the Fox TV network and newspapers and TV stations around the world. Murdoch has been having problems with a complaint by NBC that Fox is a foreign owned TV network, which is against US law.
In the past, Harper Collins has offered million dollar book contracts to several conservative politicians in countries where Murdoch was having regulatory trouble, including England (Margaret Thatcher, Jeffrey Archer) and China (Deng Xiaoping's daughter). A week after the initial offer, Newt met with Rupert Murdoch - and Murdoch's legislative lobbyist - to discuss politics, including the NBC complaint. As facts about the deal were made public, and even Republicans criticized him, Gingrich decided to give up the $4.5 million advance for a still-lucrative deal based on royalties. ~snip~

8. Don't forget his snit & shutting down the government over Air Force One
trip where Clinton was busy working on comments for a state funeral and Newt was pissed about sitting in the back with everyone else. The man has no sense, no empathy, no clue that anybody but Newt has needs too.

Anytime he talks about responsibility, bring up that AND the fact he was welching on court ordered payments to dying ex-wife which did indeed result in her church having to collect to keep power on at her home. Some family values! Some concern about the good of the nation. Some self centered prick.

He is a slime sucking reptile.

And I will be hearing from the Reptile Anti-defamation League about that. ;)
