If Alito has nothing to hide then why is spector doing his damndest
to not publicize the judges previous activities and affiliations? His trials and tribulations with CAP should be known to all Americans since it is all Americans who would be subject to the whims and capriciousness of this bush nominee if granted a seat on the highest court in the land.

Where have I heard that "if you've done nothing wrong" stuff before?

1. This has potential to sink him and they know it.
My guess is he was one of the leaders of the group and
being the president of a group of racism woman haters
tends to disqualify one from being on the supreme court.

2. People for the American Way have been trying to get the Rusher papers
since last NOVEMBER or more. The Judiciary Committee needs to DEMAND THEM.

I think you are right, FWIW. Racist, sexist assholes are a bit out of fashion, but BushCo wants to bring that style back.

4. that's my guess as well. You do not put membership on a resume, you
put a LEADERSHIP position on a resume.

My guess is he was either instrumental in founding the organization, or was a high ranking member.

6. I wonder about whether he really was a leader or not.
If he was, that would probably, be pretty easy to find out and he is clearly denying any memory of much involvement except as it related to the ROTC. I don't think he'd be so sloppy as to lie about this when it's clear that the Dems are going to do their best to find out the truth. My guess also, is that at this very moment, there are some investigative journalists researching away to find out how involved he was with CAP. So, unless Alito is totally confident that his tracks are well covered (in case he was truly involved as a major player in the group), it doesn't seem likely that he'd be so careless as to lie blatantly about this. My guess is he probably joined because he figured it would better his career as a GOP attorney, knowing it would look good on his resume, since that is indeed what he did use it for. But, anything can happen- guess we'll have to wait and see!

The French have a word... "Les incompetents."

Yes, that's from "Home Alone."

5. For the same reason he gave kennedy shit about the CAP papers.
He wants to make the dems look impotent, make the hearings run smoothly, and put there guy on the court for the next forty years. Makes me glad I'm getting old...

9. wow this was so powerful..i am so thrilled that teddy stood his ground..
i am so proud of kennedy...i can not tell you how that warmed my heart!!

as a woman and as a mother to a minority son..i demand these documents..and for grassley to us a football annaolgy to follow up is only fitting because alito has womens discrimination in his background..and the fact that grassley would use a football term and play of "Hail Mary"..only cements for me that these fuckers hate women..and would like nothing better than see todays women back to the days of barefoot and pregnant...

i hate these fuckers!!

and i will not sit back and see the next generations young women go back to the days of my mother..and my younger years..and all i can say is..you young women today...

you better get off your asses and protect what those before you fought for and got for you..and that is your freedom of thought, your freedom of your body, your freedom to education, your freedom of employment...

your freedom..to be all that you can be...

if you do not stand up for, what you take for granted..then you get what you put into it...

do not take your rights for granted...
and do not expect others to do it for you...

i can assure you..you will be sorry if you do not fight ..and if you do not stand up for the very rights you have today..that were hard fought for!
