I don't think Joe Biden belongs on the Judiciary Committee. |
|
He had, what, thirty minutes, today to ask Alito important questions, and he just frittered it away.
Nice baseball cap and anecdote, you camera hound.
I would give almost anything to have that thirty minutes back for a serious person to ask serious question and demand serious answers.
Biden makes a fool of himself with every hearing, and I think he's had enough face time during these hearings to last a lifetime.
Can we lobby Harry Reid to replace him with someone serious?

..bought himself a coffee mug that says "Best Presidential Candidate Ever". He's an asshat, and let's not forget he's the insufferable prick that chaired the "Iraqi Threat Assessment Senate Committee" that wouldn't listen to any more dissent than Bush himself. He invited Chalabi's group and debunked defectors, but didn't permit any of those that said an Iraq invasion was unwarranted. And in this manner, he aided Bush in misleading this nation to war. Biden should get his ass kicked.

5. That whole committee should resign |
|
A complete collection of jerks who think "hearing" means "I can make all the speeches I want and let the nominee skate."
I'm completely ashamed of my government now. Never, in more than 30 years in Washington, have I seen such an inept, unqualified, shameful bunch.

of "coaches". I don't if he's trying to embarrass Lindsay Graham or just get it out into the open.

Feingold and Leahy. But, they're such a quaint minority in that bunch of sockpuppets, they really don't shine like they should.

Now the Republicans will control everything, the supreme court, the Presidency, Congress, the Senate, MSM, most newspapers, the whole cabal. There was some good reporting on Katrina but since then, the supposed journalists are in full whore mode doing their best to protect the Republican party and secure their continued control of the country. It's so depressing. The mountain just keeps getting higher. Truth is simply hidden from the American people.
I know we can't give up the good fight but the cards are sure stacked against us.

But I have a sense that Mr. Abramoff is going to shuffle those cards very thoroughly in the not-too-distant-future.
I so hate the media.

25. Time for a reality check |
|
It is long past time for Democrats to realize that Biden and Kennedy are the two best weapons Bush has for getting his nominees approved. I talk to a lot of people who are not very interested in politics and they pretty much view Biden and Kennedy as self-important jerks. I know that is heresy to Democratic stalwarts but the reality is that the vast majority of the public don't get serious about politics except a little before elections are held. The subliminal image they get of the Democratic party is not flattering because these two tend to dominate the news coverage of anything the judiciary committee does.

18. What's the point of questioning the nominee |
|
if they're going to go through endless weeks of "mock hearings" and told to basically dodge their personal beliefs so they won't spark a brouhaha??? Biden was on Hardball yesterday and said that he would favor an open debate on the floor. I think Biden is a jerk but I kind of have to agree with him there.
