Please do Everything in your power to defeat the nomination of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court.

The Democratic goal for the Alito hearing shall be to defeat his nomination through a filibuster of 41 votes or more, then to defeat the nuclear option with 51 votes or more.

Samuel Alito is an unacceptable choice to sit on the Supreme Court of the United States and his nomination must be defeated!

12. Called Senator Reid's office. Here are some tips.

Fillibuster good move because

1. Majority of Americans (not just Dems) want him fillibustered if he will overturn Roe v. Wade. If the Democratic Senators say they believe he will and fillibuster him this will be good enough for the concerned Americans, i.e they will believe the judgement of the Dems.

2. Worst that can happen is the Repukes will use the nuclear option. This gets Alito on the courts, makes the GOP look VERY VERY BAD and VERY VERY DANGEROUS just months before this fall's election, makes the Dems look like the best interest of the country at heart.

3. Best that can happen is Alito is kept off the court and majority of Americans thank the Dems for preserving Roe v. Wade. Democratic base is happy with Senate Dems and is mobilized to vote this fall.


If the Senate Dems do nothing and Alito votes to overturn Roe V. Wade, loook for a backlash from Democratic voters who may stay home to show their disgust with Democratic leaders---Democrats are not like GOPers. They do not blindly follow their leaders, accepting crumbs that are tossed their way. They expect action and results.

Do not allow the discussion to be derailed. Roe v. Wade is what America is worried about. Keep the topic of Roe v. Wade at the forefront of the debate. Do not be fooled by people who say the issue is hurting Dems. Right to Life will turn out to vote GOP anyway regardless of what the Dems say or do. The issue now is Democratic base mobilization.
