MADISON — Political fallout from a Washington corruption scandal reached Wisconsin on Wednesday when Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle and U.S. Rep. Mark Green, R-Hobart, pledged to return campaign money from contributors with ties to ex-lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
Doyle's campaign said Wednesday that the governor would return $1,000 he received in December 2003 from Alan Slomowitz, a lawyer who, at the time, was working in the same law firm as Abramoff — who has pleaded guilty to bilking millions of dollars from Native American tribes and conspiring to bribe congressional lawmakers.
"Because of the reprehensive nature of what Jack Abram-off has pled guilty to, we decided that we would return the money," said Rich Judge, Doyle's campaign manager.
Earlier in the day, Green announced plans for returning $31,069 in campaign funds he received from embattled Texas congressman Tom DeLay, and called for tougher state rules on tribal campaign contributions. Green is a candidate for the Republican nomination for governor.

Here again, the Dems got the money
indirectly from those
associated with Abramoff - and a pittance ($1k) as opposed to the Thug who took $31k directly from BugMan. I can't tell you how much I despise Mark Green -- all the way back to the 6th grade.
