it's 2009, * is out - we look back. What did we stop him from doing those
8 years in office?

Would like a list we can keep adding to of all the things we have stopped he and his cronies from doing.

1. Not a damn thing, as far as I can tell.
The Dems in Congress just backed down and went running for their corporate donations.

4. First you have a big ASSUMPTION on your hands * and Cheney
will leave office. I not sure the "War on Terror" will allow * in his mind to leave...... Especially when a Dem wins the race.

9. You may be right - then what do we do???
I hope the people in general would not tolerate that, but sadly I think too many would.

6. The rape of social security --but that' s really a draw that they'll win
as long as they can keep meaningful new legislation to support Social Security from arising, and keep bankrupting our country they're dooming the Social Security system in the long run.
But we did keep them from raping it outright.
blah.

10. That's a start - the question I suppose is how were we able to do that
and so far it seems (from posts here....or lack thereof) that is about all we have done for all the man hours on here typing. I know I am wrong though, just want to compile a list of victories to keep us humming along. Big ones, little ones, etc.

7. we were able to slow some of it down
but in the end, we seem to be disorganized, weak and ineffectual. We were raised to be polite and that never gets it with brute force. When Alexander sliced the Gordian Knot, instead of untying it in the traditional manner of settling disputes, the rule of might makes right began, and here we are, victims still.

8. Well that is a downer....
Perhaps then we should look more to the local level and how he has energized the base and we have made more progress in a broader fashion then a narrow one.

11. I think we have given DeLay a good fight so far, and a nuisance to Rove.
The "Culture of Corruption" thingy may nail a few of 'em in '06...
