Samuel Alito must not be confirmed. It's that simple. Not unless we're ready, as a nation, to endure a generation of hard-right rule, enabled by a Supreme Court more conservative than Herbert Hoover's. Not unless we're ready to sit back and witness the incremental whittling-away of women's rights, starting with the right to reproductive choice. Not unless we're willing, as a nation, to kiss environmental protection, worker's rights, the right to privacy and the rights of the accused goodbye. And certainly, Samuel Alito should not be confirmed unless we agree, as a nation, that the President should not be constitutionally required to obey the law. I urge you to use whatever means are necessary to stop Samuel Alito from being confirmed as a supreme court justice. We're not ready, as a nation, to turn the clock back to 1937.
All best regards,
