Welcome to ALITO's AMERICA...a quick preview of the theocracy to come...
Edited on Thu Jan-12-06 03:56 PM by Julius Civitatus
Well, they say the Dems won't filibuster, and Alito, this extremist judge with a questionable record of judicial decisions, is headed for an easy confirmation.

While we get used to the idea of 30 or 35 years of a SCOTUS with a majority of extreme right-wingers, here's a quick preview of what's to come.

Here's a list of things we know Alito supports, according to his appalling record:

  • Condoms will be illegal or only available by prescription, even to married couples.

  • Not only you'll say goodbye to Roe v. Wade... abortion will be equaled to murder, and people will be prosecuted.

  • Immigrants and non-citizens will NOT have the same protections under the law that full citizens enjoy. Alito opposes that any non-citizens living in US soil should enjoy the same protections under the law. He was very adamant about it.
So tourists, immigrants, and diplomats could be killed or abused here, and the US law wouldn't cover them. Too bad!

  • Wiretaps for everyoneeeee!!!!

  • The president will be king. Period. Imperial presidency will be the law of the land. You don't like it? Too bad. More wiretaps for you, you commie!

  • Hope you liked the wiretaps, cause Alito also supports strip-searches for everyone! Even 10-year olds!

  • He also opposes medical and maternity leave from the workplace!!! You just had triplets? F#ck you, and get back to work the next day, you lazy fornicator!

  • Alito also thinks that threatening a retarded man with sodomy with a broomstick in the workplace is a-OK!!! Just bring some K-Y to the workplace!

  • Women, in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant. Maybe. But certainly nowhere near Princeton.

And apparently the Democrats are fine with all this as well, since they are not willing to filibuster this creep.

3. Save me a seat
I think my wife and I would have moved to Canada already if our careers did not require more schooling to do them up North. I am a high school teacher and she is an attorney. We are fucked if Alito gets in.

As I Said,You Liberal Degenerates Played...

this whole thing all wrong.

He is only human and i assure you that they do not forget the vicious personal attacks!

You
Liberals
definitely needed to borrow a page from the Republic ans's playbook on how to treat an inevitable appointment to the Supreme Court.

They do not mind you voting against them, but i assure you that they do very much mind the personal attacks!

Sorry but you Liberals sealed your fate with this man. You deserve everything he gives you! Good luck and See Ya!

***********so the GOP think that alito is going to base his rulings on how our Democrat Senators treated him and made him squirm..........if this is true ....then the Senators had sure as Hell.....stop this man.
Remember he will listen to his wife......a step ford or not.she still has a little "power" over him!!

7. "Some people say" that Clarence Thomas
is still bitter and still holds a grudge over his confirmation hearing.

Proof he does not possess the temperament to be in any high-level decision-making position, let alone the Supreme Court.

than the hearings, I'd bet.
Just as Scalito's. He's still furious that he never fit in with the 60's milieu at Princeton. Even there he couldn't escape his generation.

8. This saddens me. Although
You have a right to your opinion. BUT....You comments are so over-the-top and unbelievable that you turn off more people than you get excited. You marginalize yourself and help the other side by being so hysterical. I think it's more effective to bring sober, serious concerns about dangers to our civil liberties that voters will believe and respond to. This is just shooting ourselves in the foot.

11. Whatever.... Giving credit to the wingnuts got us this far!
Let's play ball!

Let's all be civil and play bipartisan politics!

Let's all hold hands and sing Kumbaya!

Yeah, yeah, that works. That has been the policy of the Dems for a decade, and every time we get kicked in the teeth. Alito is a partisan extremist, and his presence in the SCOTUS will bring about every wet dream of the far right. Wait and see.

In the meantime, you can go ahead and sing Kumbaya with the Repugs. Fine by me.

9. How about birth control pills? Make them as illegal as crack cocaine??
I've heard enough RW religious nutcases around here that think they should be illegal and carry a coke-like conviction if caught with them.

will return to being the wonderful all-male bastion of higher learning, as will all the traditionally "men only" ivy league colleges before they were integrated by minorities and women.

13. I've heard and read they can't
It won't do them any good to filibuster... they don't have the votes to block Reich-marshall Alito and the repukes are itching for our guys to filibuster so they can pass a new law against filibustering... the American Repuke/Nazi Party is as usual holding what's left of the constitution hostage.

"suspicious." Seriously:

He's on record in a memo as believing that to shoot an eighth grader, known not to be armed, who was trying to climb over a fence in escape, is a proper use of deadly force by a policeman. In a discussion of immigration cases that have been regularly occasioning inexcusable, vile, un-American heartbreak on people who missed obscure deadlines or violated arcane requirements, all he could say was that the courts get bad transcripts and it was hard to find translators for some of the plaintiffs, but that was a problem for Congress.

17. Anger or is it fear
I have an IUD which is clssified by the AMA as both a contraceptive and an abortive. It has already been attacked by the Pro-lifers and will be the one of the 1st birth control methods to be made illegal. I am sure after Alito's confirmation when I go to my gynecologist he will be required by law to remove it.

I must be a serial killer by this time...I've probably killed hundreds..I should turn myself over to the authorities so that Alito can judge me.

The thought that someone can take my birth control option from me makes me crazy!

I notice that the Pro-Lifers never attack artifical insemenation which fertilizes dozens of eggs before implanting only a few of them in a woman then discard the rest.

I am glad you made this statement as I had never given this subject a passing thought. We need to run with this, make it an issue to the pro-lifers. Wouldn't destroying the fertilized eggs be the same as aborting or killing by terms of their own definitions??

20. I agree -- condoms would be the last thing they'll make illegal.
They'd take away IUDs, birth control pills, even diaphragms -- not only because of the way IUDs work, but because these are contraceptives *women* can control. Call me cynical, but that's how I see it. (But there will never be any shortage of Viagra!)

22. Actually- some have opinions on that too, ever hear of 'Snowflake Babies'?
Snowflake Babies

Conservative fundies have a plan for every aspect of your uterine life!

The fellas better not get too complacent about this, either - I can just see fundy groups going after both parents for child support, medical coverage, tuition, & who-knows-what-else!

How did we ever run our own lives w/out all this 'well meant' guidance?
