'Twere done, 'twere best done aggressively.
The worst tactic for the Democratic Senators to take is a filibuster that is based on some technicality, such as a delay based on an alleged need for more information. If they filibuster, they need to do so as aggressively as fuckin' possible. This is not a situation that calls for pussy-footing, and not a circumstance where this tactic should be done half-heartedly.

The message should be: we're not accepting Alito to the bench. He's not right for America. We're filibustering his appointment. If Frist tries to bypass Senate rules, we'll shut down the Senate.

And they had better be ready to do the latter.

Win or lose, they need to act as if they had a pair.
