Developing....Bush smeared Murtha...

Bush Admin. Launched Secret Smear Campaign Against Murtha…

The Huffington Post has learned the Bush administration recently asked high ranking military leaders to denounce Congressman John Murtha. Congressman Murtha has called for the Bush Administration to withdraw US troops from Iraq.

The Bush Administration first attacked Rep. Murtha for his Iraq views by associating him with the filmmaker Michael Moore and Representative Jean Schmidt likened him to a coward on the floor of the House of Representatives. When those tactics backfired, Dick Cheney called Murtha "A good man, a marine, a patriot and he's taking a clear stand in an entirely legitimate discussion."
Though the White House has backed off publicly, administration officials have nevertheless recently made calls to military leaders to condemn the congressman. So far they have refused

2. Recommended!
the bushits leave no stone unturned when it comes to smearing the opposition. The public should be on to them by this time..but it's hard when the bushevits have the fascist media working for them. Mussolini would be proud.

I hope more of this gets out, and it backfires on him just like everything else has done. Every time someone in that administration thinks, they hurt themselves -- including Dubya, Cheney, Rummey, and oh yeah, Rove! :eyes:

5. No surprise. Another honorable patriot Swift Boated.
We are in deep. I believe the Bush Administration and their orcs are
ready to go beyond Swift Boating their opponents, and on to far more repressive silencing of opponents. Tell me I am wrong.

6. Every day....
It just gets more and more frightening...and depressing. If this story doesn't make it into the MSM and just falls by the way...We are so screwed. But then again, maybe we already are.

12. take heart though
having said this many times, w/out much response, still it bears repeating....the 'left' can only 'lose' in a private way, there being no 'left' in our societies (unless one thinks joe lieberman's a lefty cuz he wants some trees to remain un-harvested, or the hollywooders who bank their billions because they want to be taxed etc:)) and the main part of the society either indifferent to the bush juggernaut or oblivious/supportive of it, whatever.....what matters is that the bushviks might get away with their crimes: if they do, they must rewrite history every bit as foolishly as the stalinists did russian history, and meanwhile any basis for applied politics will be thrown away (since the moment politics based upon true facts is allowed, it will expose the fact a criminal gang has been running the country into the ground, thus dooming the bushviks to guilty)....therefore, the bushviks may want 'order;' restored' but with certain qualifications: no looking back into the record, no 'free press' no tellall books not written to bushviks' order etc, iow more of the same!.....we live in a corrupt, bankrupt and vile society, which really has to exert itself to redeem any of its 'virtue' even for show...lol ...the more repressive the bushviks feel it's safe to be, the better it is, cuz the people being repressed will be the very one we're fighting to warn....
so we can't lose....hahaha! (btw everybody should have a 'bush cheney' sign to produce if the jackbooted goofs ever come sniffing around)

8. What's interesting is that it means that the intense
high profile defense especially by Kerry who with in two days of Murtha's comments had praised Murtha and denounced the Bush directed swiftboating in at least 3 interviews, a speech on the floor of the Senate, and in an email to his list was in response to more than the comments in the Senate.

This plus Murtha's reputation as a conservative hawk certainly made things backfire.

10. Pace is a dangerous shill. Perfect Bush loyalist.
That article was illuminating, especially how he characterized Iraq as a response to 9/11. Immoral craphead.

Calling Murtha an SOB Benedict Arnold Turncoat.

It was from some asshole named Kale W. Danberg at some RW site wrapping itself in the flag of my beloved Corps and calling itself always-faithful.com

Here's Mr. Danberg's email address if you care to drop him a note: KaleWDanberg@aol.com

16. Republicans: The Anti-Veteran Party
Why is it that STILL there are people who think the repukes are the "defense" party, the "support the military" party?????

Shouldn't it be obvious--cutting of vets' benefits, maiming and killing of soldiers purely for monetary gain of Bush, Cheney, and their families, trashing of actual veterans Cleland, Kerry, Gore, McCain, Murtha (the list goes on and on)... shouldn't it be obvious to EVERYONE by now that the republicans are AGAINST VETERANS????
