I just finished emailling my senators Durbin, and Obama. And boy do I feel great. I don't have the need to issue hallow threats of leaving or threatening to take my ball and go home. It feels good to do something. And if my senators vote yes to alito i'll wait until thier seat becomes open and vote someone else in. I wont leave the party though because that's what Dubya, Hannity, and thier cronies want. Just remember the worst dem is still better on the issues the best rethug.

...if they vote with the Pukes ON the issues?

For example, any Democrat who claims to be pro-choice, or supportive of the 4th ammendment, or believes in seperation of powers, as stated in the Constitution, and yet votes for Scalito, is a liar and a hypocrite. How then, are they any better than a Repuke?

How many Dems does it look like will vote for Scalito? I figured it was a given that NO Dems would be voting for him. But I have seen a couple of people refer to Dems who may vote for him.

I have been feeling really down for the last week or so. But I read some of the other posts about leaving and I thought about what I had done today. I wrote to both my Senators and my Representative. I wrote Nightly News and MSNBC. I think I get depressed because I can't see the immediate result from all the letter writing, etc. But I realized that if EVERYBODY gets overwhelmed and quits...then that leaves the field wide open for the bad guys. So I am going to keep writing and keep voting and keep working.

less I be misunderstood. I am a left-wing social-democrat and I hate the DLC. I am certainly not a supporter of Senator Clinton for the presidential nomination. And I would support a primary challenge to Sen. Lieberman.

Below is a comparison of Sen. Lieberman and Sen. Clinton's record based on Interest group ratings with that of Sen. McCain and Sen.Allen. Granted Sen. Lieberman and Sen. Clinton are not the worst Democrats but they seem to take the most heat here on DU. Sen. McCain is not the best Republican --but Sen. Allen and Sen. McCain are considered by many to be the most likely Presidential nominee in 2008. Also I would urge ANYONE to compare the voting record of Sen Chafee and Sen. Snowe who are by the far the most "liberal Republicans" according to their voting records with ANY Democrat. You can find it all at the link below.
