Regarding donations for injured service people . . .
Imus is collecting money on the air to build and maintain a facility for wounded Iraq War soldiers.

Today I received a lettet from General Tommy Franks asking me to donate to help America's Wounded FREEDOM FIGHTERS to help them with hospitalization, "pay their rent, car payments, phone bills, buy food, etc.

I am writing back suggesting that he ask the Bush and Cheney families to fund the entire project since they are the ones responsible.

Does anyone else think this is ridiculous - we are spending trillions in Iraq for nothing and we can't help these wounded service people. They have to collect from the general public!!!

Your thoughts, please . . .

1. Yes it bothers me
I thought the same thing. Why doesn't the military have one of these state of the art facilities. It's unfathomable. And if it has really to come to donations to take care of the vets, the war profiteers can cough up some dough. The American people are trying to deal with cuts in medical, schools, libraries; not to mention helping with the tsunami, Katrina, Pakistan, African famine, AIDS, and other crises Bush won't deal with.

3. They are spending all the $$$ on that palace of an embassy in Iraq.
Let the important things go, but by all means, have the best damn building in Baghdad.

Another blip in the bush dynasty.

I agree with you. I think it is a GDdm shame it has to come to this. Like Katrina, they fck up and they expect the citizens itself to help themselves. That is the only time they believe in evolution (The strongest will survive).
