Just heard on News: Helicopter that went down in Iraq may have been shot..
down? !! No shit Shitlock! They were assisting some Iraqi police force when it went down and MSNBC reports that it "may" have been shot down. "Likely or probably" might have been a better report?

But to put this spin on the helicopter going down and to almost ignore the dozens that were killed last weekend, some of whom were shot down, is beyond credence. Why don't they get out of the damn news business? They are all so incompetent.

2. Didn't see the report you're referring to, but . . .
Seems to me that they highlighted last week's wastage fairly prominently. This is just the most recent one, and an aircraft downing always makes the newsies drool.

And the way they reported that it "may" have been shot down seemed a little unreal...

Two dead after U.S. helicopter downed in Iraq

MOSUL, Iraq (Reuters) - Rebels in northern Iraq apparently shot down an armed U.S. reconnaissance helicopter on Friday, killing its two pilots, in a rare instance of American air power being challenged by guerrillas on the ground.

"The indicators are that it was due to hostile fire," said Lieutenant General John Vines, the deputy U.S. commander in Iraq. Witnesses at the scene in the city of Mosul said they saw fighters fire on the two-seater aircraft with heavy machineguns.

The wreckage of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, one of two helicopters on patrol, was strewn about the area.

Six days earlier, all 12 people aboard were killed when a Black Hawk helicopter went down close to the nearby northern city of Tal Afar, though that has so far been blamed on weather.
