I suggest we call Bush supporters, "Loyalists", as in vs "Patriots"

I suggest we call Bush supporters, "Loyalists", as in vs "Patriots"
In the Revolutionary War there were those who supported the rights of the King over the freedoms of our people. They were known as the 'Loyalists'. Those who fought for the institution of a Constitution were known as the "Patriots". More and more I talk to people who are shocked by the things people say in defense of Bush. Republicans today are willing to subvert the Constitution and reinstate a King. They care not for their own rights, if Bush says they do not need them. It is often commented by those in the know that Bush values above all elese, Loyalty to him. Therefore, they are "Loyalists".

Loyalist- "a person who is loyal to their allegiance (especially in times of revolt)"
-remember that these people supported the King even after the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

Patriot- "one who loves and defends his or her country"

Remember the words of America's Patriots, not because I call for war as they did, but because I want people to be confident in their assertion that our position is for our country and Constitution and theirs is merely for the power of a man who thinks he was appointed by God.

9. The media has been adopting "loyalists" because they didn't know it
was an insult. They thought it a compliment or else subtle enough to get away with using. I dunno. I'm going with toadies from here on out.

"toadies" sounds like a common insult as opposed to a title based in historical context. How is it not just name calling.

29. How about just calling them radicals?
That's how the right wing stigmatized Democrats in the 60's and 70's. They kept repeating that we were "radicals". After a few years, people didn't want to vote for those "radicals". So, why don't we just call Republicans what they've become; big, fat RADICALS.
