In light of the never-ending chants of "Chappaquiddick" for TK,
maybe we should start referring to Laura Bush as "Crash"?

3. only teddy's retirement will put an end to that one.
but we still need to hammer back.

banana republicans excel at name-calling and personal smearing, and we need to quit seeking virtue in the high road and hit back, hard and often.

2. I need to think up a rude response when republicans bring that up
No one knows about Laura's fiasco so that doesn't work so well.

4. What I've used
"Bush has killed over 2000 Americans and by his own admission 30,000 Iraqis." I haven't thought of anything better yet, but I'll use this until I do.

6. I brought this up at lunch with a mixed group -
righties, lefties, and moderates. No one else even knew it. Much like the mysterious dead staffer in Joe Scaboro's office....

9. That's right. Sometimes we long for intelligent company.
More and more so as time goes on.

"you stupid bastard, that was a accident, the man has stood up for worker rights, womens rights, civil rights, environmental issues, and progressive taxes, but you wouldn't know about that being an illiterate inbreed."

10. Nice, but I will forget that after the first six drinks
All they have to say to get me going is
any phrase containing Teddy and Chappaquiddick.
The king dolts will string together
Baby Killers, Teddy, Chappaquiddick, and Monica
in the same nonsensical sentence.
I know it's just dumb bullshit but it infuriates me
nonetheless.

7. I got that one this morning.
It came as I was closing the door at the feed store, they could not even wait for me to get all the way inside. They give me such a bad time, mostly it is teasing since I can give it right back but this time it pissed me off. "Who the hell is Chappaquiddick Ted Kennedy to be asking anyone questions about their past?" My response, "He is an elected Democratic Senator who is doing the job he was elected to do. Can you say that for the Republicans who are doing nothing more than acting like overpaid cheerleaders?"

They moved on to talking about corn crops. (I nailed them on that one too)

15. Thank you!
I get more practice with these good old boys than I ever would anywhere else. I really like them and they me but they always give me a hard time. We have had some really deep conversations though. BTW, they always hate loading the back of my pickup. They just HATE that big bright CODE PINK sticker!

16. Wow, Muse,
You have my sincere admiration--taking such a brave and lonely stand out there in the flatlands. As a former Nebraskan, who worked among those knee-jerk Neo-cons for awhile long ago, I remember the feelings of isolated despair that finally forced me to flee. You rule! SG

18. No, it is not that brave, really
these are people I know pretty well and have for a long time. We usually talk things without parties getting in the way since they know I am not in lock step with Democrats (I freely admit when I think they have made a mistake) but they do know I hate Republicans. I am not alone out here, this state is becoming a hot bed in many ways. We may not make a lot of progress at first but we are working hard, very hard in many areas. Watch us fly, in GLBT rights we are making a noise out here in the prairie. http://www.kansasequalitycoalition.org/ I think the site is under construction or remodeling or something but we are doing it so it is not lonely at all.

13. Dems simply don't have the stomach to be as immature and pointless.
Too bad, really. The incessant harangue of this caliber usually wins out because Democrats don't have the inclination and patience to go toe-to-toe with these morons on their level. In the War Room, James Carville talked about hitting them back, blow for blow, but it never, ever ends.
