Discussing sanity while sitting in The Not Right Room
Edited on Fri Jan-13-06 04:20 PM by DancingBear
(re-post from GD)

Would he really declare martial law? Are the stories really true? Will the filibuster really work? Should we do it? Questions, questions. We all have questions, and some of us ask them as if the room was not indeed a house full of mirrors and the floor did not tilt from left to right. Some of us believe, evidence to the contrary, that insanity does not live in a big white house, and that madness and delusion are not its constant companion.

Watch the man in the house, will you please? Watch how he cannot format thoughts or sentences, and that he needs voices in his ear, real or imagined, to tell him what part to move. Watch how he cannot speak without rehearsal, nor walk without falling. Watch his cocaine-addled brain strive to say anything that doesn'tt resemble umm/er/uh, and watch him rub a thousand heads as if his hands could heal. Watch as some kind of perverted Baby Jesus wraps him in a cloak of hate that the madness believes is Divine Intervention, then rocks him to sleep with a fifth of Official Jack Daniels Holy Water. If you watch, you can come to no other conclusions. You cannot conclude he just has a different political philosophy. You must, however difficult, conclude that a madman runs this country. His actions, in all their forms, show a man who is quite literally insane, from his rolled-up “workin’ hard” blue sleeves to his “wait, let me finish” remark to an imaginary debate question to his hopelessly ill-fitting fake Texas persona. We have met the enemy, and he is nuts.

So how, pray tell, does one argue sanely with a madman, or his minions, equally unstable? And when the madman puts up a puppet judge before us, whose sole job will be to legitimize the insanity that sits in front of us like an iceberg, are we not morally obligated - not as Democrats but as thinking, feeling human beings - to scream with every last vestige of our strength that we are being driven, blindfolded, off a cliff? Are we not morally obligated to at least try taking the keys, rather than turning them over and hoping that the madman passed Drivers Ed?

This is not a political game anymore – this is fascism, and I feel for anyone on this side of the aisle foolish enough to believe it is not. Do not, for an instant, delude yourself into believing that the madman will not try and institute martial law, and that the madman will not try and bring a theocracy forth. Everything you have seen from him so far proves it, and every media whore who says otherwise should cement those beliefs. The Executive Orders, dormant for many years, sit at the ready, and when another attack comes (and you KNOW it’s coming – it is their trump card and they will play it if they can, regardless of the costs) the good Germans will listen to the great protector and put the “if you see anyone who doesn’t look just like you he’s probably a terrorist and we’ll lock him up just to be safe” Help Protect Our National Security number on speed dial. If you aren’t able to check off “Republican” and “Caucasian” on the proper forms you are in deep, deep shit.

Samuel Alito is the guy, today, that can make the George Bush vision come to life. Simply put – if he gets on the bench, the chances of turning back fade far away off into the distance. The climate today is far different than when Thomas, or Scalia, or Rehnquist sat before our Senators, but I need not tell you that. We sit now mere votes away from an assault on fundamental human rights like this country has never seen. We have one chance – one chance – to stand up and say “no”. Whether we win or not is almost immaterial at this point. What we MUST do is stand, for the first step in defeating insanity is acknowledging its existence.

If not now, when?

3. The next step
The elections are rigged, the courts are loaded. Bush is a man with a plan...crazy or not.

Time for more drastic measures my friends.
