Ney walks the plank. What about Pombo?
Bob Ney has been forced out as chairman of the House Adminstration Committee because of the Abramoff scandal.

Richard Pombo of California, who never saw a tree he didn't want to chop down, is chairman of the House Resources Committee. If the Republicans were really serious about reform, they would give Pombo the heave-ho as well. But, of course, they aren't. The only reason they are throwing Ney under the bus is because he's probably fixin' to do the perp walk.

I guess if you're a Republican you're save as long as you aren't referred to in an indictment as "Congressman A" or some such.

2. I don't know if Ney has formally stepped down
But if the Speaker wants him gone, he's gone.
