Neil Lisst cartoon - the week in review - all 6 cartoons
Edited on Sat Jan-14-06 01:37 AM by Neil Lisst
This week we returned to the business of making fun of the Bush administration in ways we hope will shed light on their evil.

We started early with Sunday.

Sunday - BUSH ON THE ROCKS
Since every photo I see of him suggests he's boozing hard again, and since he keeps wanting to stay the course, here is a little something for him.

Monday - ROBERT NOVAK - TOADSTOOL
We wanted to remind everyone about the White House Iraq Group, the way Rove and Libby plotted to use journalists to smear Plame and Wilson, and the role the little toadstool Novak played.

Tuesday - NSA GETTING THEIR COOKIES ON CITIZENS
We used a Scott McClellan press conference and a little imagination to talk about it.

Wednesday - BUSH & ORDER - Domestic Intelligence Unit
Bush is spying on his political enemies. The story is out on his spying of Christiane Amanpour. Why would it stop there?

Thursday - FORKED TONGUE - Why are Republicans who took money stolen from Indian Tribes giving it to the Pubs' favorite charities?

Friday - CRYING GAME - What do you call a racist, sexist unethical judge with a sobbing wife?

I really enjoy your work. Political satire and lampooning at it's best! When I get my new site finished I'll be adding the tooncast from you. Hmmm.. maybe put it up now as my "under construction" page?

I want the messages propagated to the largest audience. I don't even know who all is tooncasting it, but I've found it in Germany, Israel, Pacifica Radio, and a gay site.

I didn't even know it was being broadcast at the gay site until I got some rightwing hate mail about it. You can imagine the terms they used. You know how it is with them. If you approve of gays, you ARE gay, and then the epithets follow.

Know what I do? I send them back an email that looks like it's computer generated.

Dear Fan of Neil Lisst,

I'll be doing a lot of promoting once I get the site launched, hopefully in the next few weeks, so that should give some extra exposure. As for your products, I DO have them. Check out http://www.offrampbums.com/bushbum.html and see. I'll be looking forward to having your work on my site.

19. thanks.. you are up and running...
check out http://www.myowndang.com . I have a lot of work to do yet before launching officially, but when I do, I'll have free games, chatrooms, email etc. I'm currently talking with a college and a technical school about getting some students to help develop this site as I have grand ideas but limited knowledge in applying what I want to achieve. Keep up the great work!

20. Great. May it bring you traffic.
I want to be the Johnny Appleseed for biting political commentary, spreading the seeds of cynicism wherever they might find fertile ground.

21. BTW, if you check webcomicsnation, you'll see we're Number 1
The site was already a couple of years old and had over 400 comics when we hit the scene in mid-September, 2005. We shot to the top of the daily ratings, and have been number one almost every day since. We took over the number one all-time (totals) in about 6 weeks, and have dominated since.

We've had over a half million page views in 4 months.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I'm told.

Of course, I'm immune to praise (not).

18. I'm no celebrity, just a guy who is trying to make a difference.
Edited on Sun Jan-15-06 02:58 AM by Neil Lisst
I've worked in a lot of campaigns over the years, and I'm a yellow dog to the core. But I grew weary of all that, and frankly, don't have the patience for it any more.

I decided to do a cartoon about 6 months ago, recruited a guy I've done some cartoons with over the years, and kicked off this character shortly after Katrina hit.

It's a labor of love, and I can do it because I make a decent living doing what I really do, which shall not be discussed. Do you know freepers read DU and send me emails at my neillisst@hotmail account? It's like they want me to know they are reading up on my posts, like I care.

In about 5 and a half hours, our tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King will be up here:
http://www.webcomicsnation.com/neillisst

I really like the tribute to Dr. King, and I think all of you will, too. I am using a quote of his that is as applicable today as it was when he said. It's not one you usually hear, either.

Be looking for it! Thanks for reading. Feel free to copy and send any of the cartoons you like to friends. I'm an owner-creator, and we authorize such use, and if you wish to tooncast one, I have instructions on the site for doing so. At least 3 DUers I know of are tooncasting the cartoon now. I want to get the messages out, and if you agree with a message, help us get it out.
