What will happen to Griswold if/when Roe is struck down?
It seems to me that Griswold v. Connecticut is what the fundies have been after all along. It enabled Roe and it enabled Lawrence v. Texas, the gay sodomy case of a few years ago. The RW detest abortion rights and gay rights, so why wouldn't they just go to the source right off. No Griswold, no right to an abortion or privacy in your sex life.

I say to the fundies, go for it. Bring it on. How many people in this country would want their states to impose or reimpose laws against the sale and distribution of contraceptives?

1. Harriet Miers defended Griswold
and the WH had to launch a damage control campaign immediately to smother the fallout.

Anyone who would oppose Griswold is f****** fascist.

3. We would have been better off with Miers.
No prize package, but she is also no Alito.

2. IMHO:
I agree. It is a game that the GOP plays all the time - use the religious right to get other ideologies implemented and then leave them out in the rain. No. They aren't going to ban contraceptives.:eyes:

4. Do you think the Court will "amend" Griswold
to say contraceptives are okay but abortion and gay sex aren't? I guess anything is possible but man, that is a stretch!

5. Corporations still need some women in the work force
so contraceptives are safe for now. When they have enough guest workers to clean the rooms at the resorts, women will be SOL in matters of planned parenthood.

When the corporate state requires more cannon fodder, look out.

6. The course they are on
will lead to the "culture war" wedge issues ensuring Democratic majorities for an entire generation.

The next generation agrees with our side on cultural issues, not the religious right.

8. We Have a Majority NOW, But They Have all the Power
Giving them even more power over our lives won't change that.

What will happen to Griswold if/when Roe is struck down?

Griswold and Lawrence would fall shortly thereafter.

I say to the fundies, go for it. Bring it on.

They are. We have to stop them somehow.

How many people in this country would want their states to impose or reimpose laws against the sale and distribution of contraceptives?

They didn't ask us, and they do not intend to. The voting machinez will vote for them anyway.

As you say, they are just going to go for it.

9. Ive said this before- Bring it on.
While there would be a period of absolute nightmarish problems, this would be the end of the republican party. The overwhelming majority of both men and women strongly support Roe, and I believe there would be hell to pay for overturning it.

In the end, I dont think they would ever actually overturn it as it is too good of a wedge issue for them.

10. I agree
If / when this would happen, all hell would break loose. The Repukes would suffer severely from this.

I'm from Vernon, not to far away from the mall.

On edit: New Haven is a nice area. I just wish it wasn't a production to get down there!
