Wow, Democracy in action in Iraq. Purple fingers. Speeches and statements of support by prominent Right Wingers. Dubious claims by others. What ever happened?

Sure disappeared from the radar.

'Ole hot potato got cold real quick.

I guess there were more "irregularities" than we thought?

Maybe the "wrong" candidates won.

Anyone know what ever happened to Matt Laue..... err, the Iraq elections?

1. Maybe the Iraqis are embarrassed because their election was run, and
the outcome, was exactly like ours.

Update 7: Iraq Election Results May Come Next Week
By SAMEER N. YACOUB , 01.14.2006, 11:17 AM

Certified results from last month's election should be released by late next week after the Iraqi election commission receives an interim report from international monitors looking into fraud complaints, a senior electoral official said Saturday.

The U.S. military command, meanwhile, reported that a U.S. Marine was killed in combat in western Iraq.

There had been hopes certified results from the Dec. 15 parliamentary elections would be announced in the next few days, allowing Iraqi parties to start putting together a new government.

But Safwat Rashid, a senior official on the Independent Electoral Commission of Iraq, said the study of fraud allegations had held up certification of the outcome.

3. Doesn't it seem ODD that the noise machine is turned off

And that the story appeared in Forbes (I swear I couldn't find that) and the MSM has been quiet as a mouse over this?

I'd be asking Chimpster's puppet every day in the press debacles why there isn't more news on this.

Can you imagine the United States waiting a month for the outcome of an election without updates?

Smells like fraud to me. Yes it does.

4. Thanks for the link
Funny how Bush Inc would talk about every moment during / after the elections. Now when mentioned, it's a slight murmur. I think our approved candidates suffered a swift beating.

5. Hadn't you heard? Chalibi won!
As head of the oil ministry, he will have control of what is really important. Who cares about the vote count. :sarcasm:

7. The "terrorists" won

Iraq will become a satellite of Iran, and we'll have a new big boogey-country to be afraid of....which will lead to more war, death and endless profits for Bush cronies.

In other words: "Mission Accomplished" The only mission there ever actually was.

Imagine how far the Nazis would have gotten if only they decided to operate under an elephant logo, rather than a swastika.
