Democratic Party "Commitment to America"
Edited on Sat Jan-14-06 06:47 PM by podnoi
This is THE time!

The Republicans are embraced in scandal. Their leaders have been ousted for corruption. The public knows Bush lied, they reply in polling that we are going the wrong direction. There will be no better time for the Democratic Party to boldly make a stand!

This is the time to come out STRONG and UNITED!

Like Newt Gingrich and the Republican Party did!

It is time for all the Democratic Party to stand together and call out a Press conference! All at one time, they could not be ignored! Announce a strong, united,

"Commitment to Revive America".

Think about it. If the Democrats came out all at one setting (or most), and put out a platform to Revive the Democratic system.

Set a platform something like:

1. Strength: We are resolved to win the fight against terrorism. The Democratic Party commits to the American people that we will strengthen our influence around the world by not only strengthening our military, but by holding consistant to Traditional American Values. Democrats believe that our influence in the world, and our cause, will be weakened if we compromise our values while fighting terrorism.

2. Revive Traditional American Values: The Democrats believe that Traditional American Values are our greatest ally. When we protect and preserve those values we strengthen our country. Military Power is sometimes necessary to fight off an enemy. But if we compromise our values for expediency, we lose more ground and give up one of our greatest assets. American Traditional Values have been compromised, and the Democratic Party is committed to restore and strengthen the American Way.

3. Revive the American Middle Class: The Democratic Party believes that our great and successful experience, of a prosperous middle class, is fading. The Democratic Party believes that having a large and prosperous middle class is an essential component of our American Values.

(Maybe others can complete these points:)

4. Revive American Industry: (Technological leadership, support industry at home)

5. Revive Washington: (Reform our system to respond to the will of the people and to remove corruption and influence peddling)

6. Revive our Educational System

America is the greatest country on earth, but we cannot continue in a direction that compromises the essential values that have made our country great. In this time of difficulty, the Democratic Party believes it is more important than ever to strengthen our country, not just militarily, but our economy and our people, ALL of our people. This is why we present to the American People our "Commitment to Revive America".

2. Traditional Values - Clarification
I just wanted to clarify, this is sketchy, but it seems to me that we have a right to claim "Traditional Values". But our definition is different than the Republicans.
It is more what America has stood for. Equality, Justice, Middle class, opportunity, environment, etc

So don't get turned off by the terminology. I think we have to capture the terminology. Why should the Republicans define "Traditional American Values"? Theirs are corrupt.

6. Simple...
...Democrats stand for Liberty and Justice.

That says it all. That is the frame. It is simple. It is to the point. It is the core concept of both Liberalism and Progressivism.
