How I'd change the school system

I've thought alot lately that what the education system really lacks today amongst other things is courses in government.

In this I mean I complete understanding of every amendmend of the constitution and major court cases. A detailed understanding of contemporary politics, a detailed understanding of voting and how to study candidates and issues.

In this I would have general lessons in kindergarden. From there it would get progressively more complicated. In highschool a mandatory class on a current state ballot in which you start with the premise of giving up basic biases. Then the entire class is devoted to studying each and every aspect of the measures, and candidates virtually independent of the teachers leanings. And in the end a report on how you voted and why. Included would be a letter to your congressmen and representativet

"Is it gonna be on the test?"

If not, fuggidaboutit - what's the point?

There will be absolutely NO teaching children how to actually think for themselves, doncha know.

The left needs to look forward and create what they want to see.

4. or just a more effective course in government

most have to learn civics sometime in middle school. The secondary school government course should be about how to become a responsible citizen or how the individual CAN have an impact. At least, that's how I plan on teaching it.
