I have 1 question for all associated with the WH & Congress NeoRepubs: |
|
I watched Paul Bremer on MTP this morning. He could not even be consistent with his own statements of the past, still worse he tried to weasel out of statements made in his book.
The Question: Why in the world should we give credence to anything that they now claim to be factual?
To the rest of us:
Why do we even ask the questions when chances of later contradiction and proof of lying is extremely high?

3. Yes and what is even worse is that rather than discussing issues, |
|
the "public discourse" seems to have turned to how well the sides lie.
How effectively are they lying and being believed by the American people?

4. the media helps them become effective |
|
for example, the swiftboating issue - that was just outright lies; it was the media that made it a serious issue

6. This is so true! And we know they know what they're doing now. |
|
Paul Krugman said that the media needed to ask themselves some questions about the Iraq war etc, acknowledging that so much was known by the media but not reported:
"What did we know, and when did we know it? And why didn't we inform the American people?"
What the heck, it is only our Democracy, our nation, our ideals, our way of life that is being eroded bit by bit day after day.
No big deal, apparently, to too many folks.
Is lobbying business as usual, some of them ask?
I wonder if they have read anything of substance about Abramoff and the dark sleazy slime that is involved in that case?
Lobbying is one thing, this scandal isn't about lobbying, it is about corruption so shameful that we've not seen the like of it in this nation in my lifetime.
Lobbying should be more regulated, real election reform is needed. But let us not conflate the 2.
The Abramoff scandal is is a singular encapsulation of evil, sociopathic, power gone mad.
Lobbying is a different animal, all too susceptible to corruption but which has rarely reached the depths that are now being exposed in the Repub party.
Yes, like Howie Dean said, this is a REPUBLICAN scandal.
(I'm switching computers and using the old one from a very uncomfortable nook, hopefully will be on the new one in more comfortable surroundings soon. Gotta say my piece fast, as a result)

2. This bunch makes Nixon look........ |
|
....like a saint! There are bad liars that can't make up good stories and get caught. There are bad liars that can keep the proper expression to pull it off, so it is obvious.
These guys are all of the above, then look you right in the face and say..."PROVE IT"! Then when you do they say, "I NEVER SAID THAT". Then when you prove that they did they say, "LOOK, WE ARE BOMBING SOMEONE ELSE NOW"!!

5. That is right. And THAT is praised as being an effective way |
|
to convey a message.
When a SCOTUS nominee is praised profusely by pundits for managing to avoid answering questions, when the Dems are criticized for not marching in lock goose step like the Repukes, then truly the media is SO SO complicit in making it
ALL ABOUT SPIN!!
All FORM, NO Substance!
All spin, all politics ALL of the TIME!!!
While the Robin Hood's in reverse rob us and future generations blind!
