Impeach the big bad president group
Thats where I want to be involved. I want to strategize how to impeach the Bush. Wouldn't that be fun. Any interest. I have ideas.

1. It's not going to happen. There is simply not the political will to do it.
To those who say we should try anyways; what would fighting a loosing battle accomplish?

5. I'm seeing if there is interest in the group...
I think its possable for a group of perhaps 200 people to start a grassroots campaign fairly easily. Its not as difficult as it seems to get masses to openly discuss this issue. The trouble is most people like you feel hopeless on the issue because the entire liberal movement is fragmented.

I did a study on the number of Impeach Bush NSA spying chain posters taken down at my relatively slow cafe. Six in a week. Theoretically they copy it and pass it on and so on. I have very little chance of this gathering momentum just by starting in North Portland. However a small group of dedicated people in a good number of major cities could rally alot of support especially combined with other tactics.

Would it impeach the president no but it could help strengthen the liberal unity in the country by showing people openly that there are others that think the way they do.

Conceding its not going to happen is rediculous in my mind. The people have massive power united which is Bush's greatest enemy. In addition considering the beating this guy took this year I don't think that its unimaginable that we could see more and more massive blunders. Got to start the ball rolling and see where it goes.

7. I agree. Deciding there is no hope of success and therefore
giving up the battle without even engaging in it is really a great example of the proverbial self-fulfilling prophecy.

IMHO.

Impeach.

14. The only way that an impeachment could happen is if the Republicans
choose to abandon Bush. I don't expect this to happen given the current makeup of the house and the senate. Encouraging this as an election issue may be possible but by that time it will have died down making the issue a hard one to develop a platform around. The best thing to do would likely be to encourage your Democrat reprehensive to develop the policies that will make America stronger. Both the Democrats and Republicans make enough policy mistakes that policies can be implemented that pursue both equality and efficiency from an economic standpoint. In adjusting the way the war on terror is fought it is also possible to make America safer and decrease the cost in both lives and money. There are a number of other win-win situations that can be created if the right people achieve power.

2. Dem Pit bulls?
Look at what happened to Clinton. Figure out how to use the similar tactics against bush, but you need some pit bulls, and there are none in the Dem side.

The Dem's should always be on the offensive, or be looking for opportunities, like the RINO's....There have been so many missed opportunities,
- Electronic voting is one BIG issue, doy...

Illegal Immigration/cheap labor is another. The Dem's could probably get alot of the "white guys in pickups" (howard dean) if they came out against something that COSTS americans more than it benefits americans. We should not be supporting the government of Mexico? It hurts all liberal social programs as service sector jobs dont pay enough to support
our infrastructure, etc...

What about the CIA fiasco? Again, his own DAD is pissed at him on this. (Drudge Report)
-Where are the DEM'S screaming about national security? Hillary wants to make banning flag burning a cause? This is so transparent (and one of my old pet issues- " What about a PAPER flag? What about a really really BAD interpretation of a flag? What about a canadian flag? _ I'm free to burn a canadian flag, but not one I drew? Are American flags blessed in a special place that makes them sacred? etc....) that any moderates will see through her like that...

Lots of issues, but no DEM hardliners. And with no dem hardliners, no one to try to impeech...Treason is a serious issue, not lying about blowjobs...

How about Teflon remover?

4. Your sources are more than suspect; Drudge?
Who are the RINOs, pray tell? White guys in pick-ups (Howard Dean). Huh?
As far as costing Americans, under the repugs, you ain't seen nothing yet.
Hillary? You're a walking advert!

But its got to come from the people now. Relying on elections can only hurt our cause.

9. What do you think DU has been trying to do for years?
We ARE some of the people that make a difference! And we ARE trying to bring validity to elections.
I refuse to be a defeatist, prefer the optimistic approach!
Get involved, write letters, demand answers, never give up!

11. I replied to a similar thread a few days ago
I was ready to take up the fight and had a plan. The plan came to me while speaking with another protester at meet and greet for the president. We had talked about how in Europe when there is a problem the country shuts down. This gentleman mentioned that we had to get more unions involved. It made sense to me. I found online a resource list that would allow us to develop a data base to use for our plans. What I wanted to do was raise the profile of our meet and greets by attracting unions to our cause. I figure the bigger the turnout the more publicity, the more air time we get. Not a soul in that thread wanted to help. They would love to bitch but when it comes time to put in the effort no one wants to do what it takes. I may have over generalized a bit but I was severely disillusioned. You want to fight. What's the plan. I will participate in anything but more lip service. I have more ideas but want to hear your response first. I am sorry if this comes across as harsh. I am just a little fed up. So again I ask what is the plan?

12. I obviously should have gotten back to you sooner
I posted my idea on this thread. Since then I wanted to try to rally more support, gather information and ideas and consider how to do it for a week. (weeks up) I was wondering if a DU PAC would make the idea realistic. Anyway I'll send you a P.M.
