... as I understand it, Ney simply resigned from his committee chairmanship, not from the House.

It's much like DeLay simply resigning from his high post. Why didn't you post this punpirate?

6. Because it's rather old news... |

... (by this place's standards :) ). I think this was in Friday's or Saturday's news. I was simply clarifying a bit--your post said he had resigned. It wasn't entirely clear by that what he had resigned from.
Cheers.

good work teach1st, i couldn't find anything online and the CBS report whips through the story so fast I had to listen to the report 3 times before I got it right... I'm glad it's a loop. I wonder how my local TV news missed this story but hang on teach. You better check the date on that story. IT SAYS SUNDAY!!!

According to CNN online, the most recent customer to leave feeding-trough in shame was Bob Ney, who gave up his prime chair position on the House Administration Committee on Sunday January 15, 2006. http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/01/15/ney.leadership/index.html

10. House Administration Committee |

was tasked with reforming House ethics. It would be pretty freakin' ironic to have a Congressman under indictment for bribery leading the committee. Apparently it was too much hypocrisy for even the Republican leadership to swallow.
And that's saying something.
