Are you ready to fight the "war on terror" for the rest of your life? |
|
And, probably, for the lives of your children? Considering how much freedoms we have surrendered in just 4 short years, how many freedoms will be left if we don't something now? We must not only stop the decay of our freedoms - we must take back what we have lost. Where do you see the "war on terror" ten years from now?

1. But we've got to give up all those freedoms.... |
|
or the terrorists win!
Sheesh, why do you hate America so much, Kentuck?
Kidding aside, as far as the war on terror 10 years from now, I don't think any prediction can be made. It's entirely dependent on who is in charge over the next 10 years. If the right people are in charge, there won't even be a war on terror in 10 years... it'll be a grim memory of a time when America was meaner and dumber. If the wrong people have been in charge, well, DUers will probably all be tossed into ovens or gas chambers long before they ever see 2016.

4. This dude on CSPAN said the "War on Terror" will last GENERATIONS |
|
Said it would not end in our lifetime or our children's children's lifetime.
Just because a few thousand (Al Qaeda's strength on 9/11) religious fanatics don't like our way of life we have to be in a state of panic forever?
Bush & Co. should never be forgiven for not throwing *everything* we had militarily, politically, and economically at Afghanistan and Pakistan (yeah I said it) for harboring Al Qaeda types. Instead they half-assed (at best) the war there letting the leaders of A.Q. live on to fight another day.
It really is like someone said, it almost seems as if there are people in this administration who are actually *helping* the enemy.
We had some really good guys (CIA and Special Operations) on the ground in Afghanistan knocking off Taliban and A.Q. types left and right, but Bush & Co. didn't send in the rest of U.S. war machine to help them out. So focused on Saddam weren't they?

|
Get rid of Saddam, find OBL and viola - we win.
I will say that an increasing number of American are coming to the realization that it will never end. We've stuck our arm completely into the hornet's nest.
