C-Span Showing Pelosi with Anti-Iraq Protestors Now...It's Great! |
|
Thank you all for going there. After watching Gore's speech it was great to see fellow Democrats lighting a fire under Pelosi. She seemed kind of shaken by the demonstration and her arguments were the usual Dem apologia about Bush/Iraq/spying, etc.
I know she's liberal and a nice lady...but hopefully we can get someone who isn't so hesitant and somewhat "befuddeled" as Leader of the House after 2006. And, mind you I like Pelosi ...just think we need more strength and determination. She is just too hesitant and drones on.
Anyway, Great Job. Our Dems need to know we've HAD ENOUGH of wishy washy we WANT ACTION.

1. How do they know that some of those disrupters, though they |
|
carry anti-War signs, aren't freepers trying to make Dems look bad by disrupting?

3. I don't like thinking this way. |

But, I'm afraid I have to.
I am ANTI-war and this is a very big problem to me.

4. There was only one that I thought was suspect...she was screaming like |
|
A.N.S.W.E.R. people at the DC Protests. She was really Over the Top!
But the rest were honest DU types. And in fact there were DU'ers there who posted about it Saturday.
So...say what you will ..but these were honest American citizens ..the kind of folks the Repugs keep OUT of their meetings...and that Bush wants to have sent to GITMO.
It was really her constituents wanting her to listen to them. And, frankly THEY seemed to be better informed than she was.

Problem is that it doesn't take much to lead people off, especially if there isn't some agreed upon strategy amongst the War-protestors for figuring out what is going on when that sort of thing happens and responding effectively. Not that I don't think they had that kind of strategy; I just don't know.
I was wondering what her specific problem was. I imagine Pelosi's staff will pay particular attention to her now, so she got what she wanted, didn't she.

8. As an Anti-Iraq Invasion Protestor, I take issue with your "implied" |
|
characterizations of us. We are peaceful people...we make our signs in our garages with magic markers and we don't show up with "prepared scripts" ...we are too busy working to earn a living to have time to download prepared stuff to our printers.
We go out there...because we BELIEVE that our DEMOCRACY IS THREATENED!
It's really as simple as that....

in all kinds of weather every weekend for about 3 years now, because I think most war is stupid and evil.
You mis-understood my post. Please re-read it. I am concerned that the anti-Invasion work will be damaged.
