Gore on telecommunications firms aiding spying |
|
Edited on Mon Jan-16-06 05:48 PM by LiberalEsto
Great quote from today's speech:
"Any telecommunications company that has provided the government with access to private information concerning the communications of Americans without a proper warrant should immediately cease and desist their complicity in this apparently illegal invasion of the privacy of American citizens."
This points to at least one course of action.
I think it is time to be preparing class action suits against any telecom firm that has cooperated in the secret surveillance program by a) selling our phone records and b) allowing the NSA, CIA, FBI, etc. to monitor the private phone conversations and emails of American citizens.
I am so outraged by this grotesque violation of privacy that I can hardly breathe. Bad enough that they can monitor the library books we check out, but this spying on our emails and phone conversations is truly well and beyond the pale of decency.
If every American were to become aware of the extent of this domestic spying, I think the B*sh regime and its abuses would be done for.

admonishment. Now we'll see if they do it. If we can get a list, we can boycott all the spy-enablers. They should also be in jail.
